Postponement of deferred premiums! When is the new date?

During the first wave of the pandemic, the Social Insurance Agency offered the possibility to defer the payment of the employer's premium for the months of March, May, June and July 2020 ("pandemic" months) until 31 December 2020. We also informed about this possibility in one of our articles. Based on the decision of the Government of the Slovak Republic, this deadline is postponed until 30 June 2021. The postponement of the deadline will also apply to the premium for the month of December 2020, which will also be payable by 30 June 2021.

This adjustment applies to employers and self-employed persons (SZČO) who show a decrease in net turnover or a decrease in income from entrepreneurial activity and from other self-employed persons by at least 40%. The deferral of social insurance premiums applies only in the part of the employer's premium. The due date of social insurance premiums for employees is no longer postponed and is to be paid in due time.

Also, the obligation to report premiums by submitting monthly statements remains unchanged and employers are obliged to report premiums by submitting monthly statements electronically - even for the month in which they have deferred them.

Employers and self-employed persons can continue to draw contributions from First Aid+, applicants who have not paid deferred premiums to the Social Insurance Agency, but have an agreed repayment schedule, are also entitled to contributions. Payment of outstanding amounts for insurance premiums during repayment according to the agreed repayment schedule is exempt from interest.
