Presentation from the tax seminar 2020 on the “What changes were use 2019”?
On 6.2. In 2020, a tax seminar was held for members of foreign chambers of commerce in the Slovak Republic, this year under the title “TAX seminar - What changes did 2019 bring us?”.
Tax seminar was organized by VGD SLOVAKIA s.r.o. in cooperation with Grant Thornton Consulting, k.s. and this year approximately 70 participants attended the Devin Hotel.
The main topics were the changes in tax legislation that entrepreneurs have to face from the beginning of 2020. The seminar focused mainly on legislative changes in the areas of income tax, value added tax, tax code, accounting, international taxation and the introduction of the new EU directive known under the heading "DAC6" on the notification of cross-border measures / financial management schemes, the main purpose of which is to obtain a tax advantage for their users.
The seminar was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic who briefly informed about planned legislative changes in 2020 and they were also actively involved in the discussions with the speakers and the participants of the event.
The topic of the possibility of introducing a nationwide reverse-charge mechanism in Slovakia (ie the mechanism of transferring the obligation to pay VAT to the beneficiary), similarly as it is planned to introduce in the neighboring Czech Republic, and the topic of more effective and transparent legislative changes January of the year so that taxpayers can better prepare for all changes in a timely manner.
